If you want your daughter to be missions minded, Girls in Action is a perfect place for her.
The Girls in Action group at First Baptist Church of Taylorsville is a satellite club of the nationwide GA organization which is sponsored through the Women’s Missionary Union. The group is open to girls in first-fifth grades and meets on Sunday evenings at 5 p.m. August through mid-May. Girls in Action teaches its members how to know Jesus Christ and how to live a missions lifestyle.
During each meeting and mission project, the girls focus on at least one of the following five categories:
1) learning about missions
2) praying for missions
3) giving to missions
4) doing missions
5) participating in the work of the church.
Girls connect with, support, and pray for real missionary families in North America and across the globe. They learn to live out their faith courageously and understand that taking up the cross of Christ is an act of obedience to which all Christians are called.
Girls have the opportunity to earn badges as they complete mission projects, learn about missionaries around the world, and memorize their pledges and Bible verses.
First Baptist Church’s GA program is coordinated by Mallory Bilger and taught by several volunteers including Judy Bowman, Bethany Snider, Sue Washburn, Michelle Brown, and Mallory. New members are always welcome and anyone with questions can contact Mallory at 502-807-8902 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. The group is also always searching for additional dedicated Christian women leaders who desire to shepherd a new generation of mission-minded girls.
